As a member of the community we believe it is small businesses like us who can make a difference. We believe that it is our obligation to make sacrifices and take the first steps, both for our business and our community.
We have started a very exciting program using alternative fuels. 90% of our current active fleet of ambulances have been converted to run on Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) and Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO). We expect to convert 100% of our fleet by end of year 2008, and pledge to keep at least 85% of our ambulances running on alternative fuels.
Alternative fuels used properly by small business can have a large impact on the environment. With a fleet of vehicles on the road everyday, emission controls are just one of the ways PC911 helps the environment. Click on the following link to see the latest smog check certificate from one of our ambulances, notice the opacity reading of 5, when the standard for the vehicle is 40. click here to open in pdf form
All the ambulances used by PC911, have been bought used, after their life cycle as real ambulances has ended. We take the time to overhaul them and get the life out of the vehicles that they were built for, instead of letting them end up as more junk in our landfills.
For more information on WVO/SVO conversion and usage please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetable_oil_used_as_fuel
We are always looking for restaurants and other users of 100% pure vegetable oil who have waste oil that needs to be disposed of. Please contact us @ Oil@pc911lv.com

PC911 is proud to announce that we are an official drop site for the non-profit organization Cell Phones for Soldiers. Any cell phone can be dropped off at our office and will be sent to be recycled; the money made from recycling the phones is used to purchase calling cards for the soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq to call their families. Involvement in Cell Phones for Soldiers is just another way PC911 helps the community and the environment.
